Possible bug in nonosweeper
Mar 9th, 2006 at 3:38pm

Greetings.

I have played nonosweeper and I love it, however there seems to be what I believe is a bug in the code

www.ryanlewis.net/nonoBUG.JPG

Here you can clearly see that in the first row of numbers should be 3 - space - 1 -space - 1, but the numbers are instead 3 - space space 1 space 1

you will notice this in other places as well.

Is this normal game operation or is this truly a bug?

This is normal. Multiple free squares in a row are only considered one "gap" in a nonogram, otherwise the numbers would automatically tell you everything and there'd be nothing to work out.

So, in beginner, 1 2 might mean any of

*_**__
*__**_
*___**
_*_**_
_*__**
__*_**

where you may have trailing spaces on either end, and the gap me be 1, 2, or 3 (which is as many fit on the row in this case, it could be much more on a bigger board)
